What is Expedition Fiji all about?

Nacamaki after Cyclone Winston (2016)

In 2016, Cyclone, Winston, decimated Koro Island, Fiji, in minutes. It was the strongest tropical typhoon to make landfall in Fiji in recorded history! With wind speed gusts of 190 mph and sustained winds of 175 mph, the small village was torn to pieces. Winston created colossal damage as it destroyed countless homes, access to clean water and 44 lives. But, the spirit of the Nacamaki Village was not broken.

Restoring Life to the Village

(2019)

In 2019, HRHH's team of 14 volunteers, along with the entire village spent a week putting the roof back onto the village hall. The village hall is the largest of it's kind on Koro Island and stands as the heart of the village. The hall is where villagers gather for fellowship, cultural dances, to discuss politics, and to stay connected with each other.

Preparing for the Future

The Fijian government provided $3,200 (USD) per home to rebuild. This will only allow for a structure built out of 2x4's and inexpensive tin, without protection against any future disasters.
The reality is, they need shelters that are better than the ones they had before and strong enough to withstand the typhoon force winds of future storms.
That's where you and Hard Rock Housing's Expedition Fiji come in!
